As 2025 kicks off, the Kijana Leo TV crew is back on the road, cameras rolling, capturing the stories that matter. But this isn’t just television—it’s a movement.

A pulse-pounding, idea-shaping, future-defining movement that’s changing lives, one story at a time.

Awards? They don’t chase them—awards chase Kijana Leo. Fresh from clinching the Excellence in Journalism Award (EJAT) 2024 for Disability Reporting, the team is hungry for even greater impact.

The winning episode? Kyaro Assistive Tech—a youth-led innovation that’s breaking down barriers for disabled individuals across Africa.

And that’s just one chapter in their success story. Their co-produced short film, Baharimania, in partnership with Tai Impact and TET Foundation, took home Best Short Film at ZIFF 2024.

When JMKF tells a story, the world listens.

“Kijana Leo” means Today’s Youth in Kiswahili, but this isn’t just a catchy title—it’s a call to action. A platform where young Tanzanians find their voice, their stage, and their strength.

Whether it’s an entrepreneur turning an idea into a business or a changemaker transforming communities, Kijana Leo is there to tell their stories—with heart, energy, and integrity.

Produced by Azam Media in partnership with JMKF and The Prime Minister’s Office – Youth Development Division (PMO-LYED), the show reaches over 56% of Tanzanian households. With Azam TV covering 81% of that audience, the reach is undeniable.

But Kijana Leo doesn’t just live inside living rooms. It’s in community centres, youth hubs, and pop-up screenings—wherever young people gather, that’s where the message lands.

In an age where brands are locked in fierce competition, Kijana Leo chooses a different path—collaboration. As JMKF CEO Vanessa Anyoti puts it:
“We’re not trying to compete; we’re trying to collaborate. Our sustainable solutions empower young people today and build future generations.”

And that’s the heart of JMKF—youth empowerment, maternal health, and smallholder agribusiness. Innovation that matters.

So, if you haven’t tuned in yet, the real question is: What are you waiting for? The future is being written right now, and Kijana Leo is telling the story.
