In Tanzania, local palm oil extractors often work for 12 hours a day, yielding only 5 litres of oil daily using traditional machines. However, in episode 003 of Kijana Leo Tv Program this landscape is changing with the introduction of cutting-edge technology by Tawfred Tech, founded by visionary entrepreneur Fredric Manyesha. His innovative Palm Oil Extraction Machine significantly boosts productivity, enabling farmers to extract up to 100 litres of palm oil daily a twentyfold increase over traditional methods.
Globally, palm oil production stands at approximately 79.5 million tons annually, with Indonesia and Malaysia dominating the market. In contrast, Tanzania produces only 290,000 tons of edible oil per year, while demand ranges between 650,000 and 700,000 tons. This results in a supply gap of 360,000 tons, largely filled by costly imports. Palm oil contributes just 25,000 tons locally, highlighting its underutilization as a key resource. Tawfred Tech’s innovation address this gap by increasing palm oil production and helping Tanzania reduce its dependency on imports.
Palm Oil Extraction Machine is designed for accessibility, adaptability and can operate on electricity, petrol, or a motor, making it suitable for various environments. Farmers across regions like Kigoma, Mbeya, Tabora, Morogoro, and Mkuranga are already benefiting from this technology, achieving higher yields and increased incomes. This not only improves livelihoods but also contributes to Tanzania’s economic growth by reducing reliance on imports.
Palm oil itself is a highly versatile ingredient used in various industries. In food production, it enhances cooking oil, margarine, baked goods, and confectionery by improving texture and shelf life. In cosmetics and personal care products like soap and shampoo, it provides moisture. In household products like detergents and dishwashing liquids, it improves cleaning efficiency. By increasing palm oil production, Tawfred machine is supporting a wide range of industries that rely on this valuable resource.
Beyond palm oil extraction, Tawfred Tech has engineered over 40 customized agricultural machines to promote efficiency and economic growth in Tanzania’s farming sector. Notably located at Loliondo, Kibaha in the Pwani Region
