Former President Dr Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete continued his peace mission in South Sudan as the African Union Chairperson’s High-Level Representative for the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea, leading mediation efforts aimed at resolving the country’s prolonged conflict and supporting the restoration of lasting peace. 

During his working visit, Dr Kikwete has held high-level consultations with President Salva Kiir Mayardit and a range of key stakeholders involved in the peace process.
