Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete

Dr Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete is a distinguished Tanzanian statesman, diplomat and development advocate who served as the fourth President of the United Republic of Tanzania from 2005 to 2015. He is also the Settlor and Chairman of the JMKF Board of Trustees

Throughout his public life, Dr Kikwete has been guided by a commitment to public service, national development, African cooperation and the advancement of human welfare. His leadership has extended beyond Tanzania, including significant contributions to regional and international initiatives in education, health, peace, development and diplomacy.

Since leaving office, Dr Kikwete has continued to serve Africa and the global community through a range of leadership, advocacy and development initiatives. Through the JMKF, he continues to champion practical solutions that improve lives and create opportunities, particularly for young people, women and communities across Africa.
